At the February Business Meeting, the church empowered the Trustees to sell the church-owned property located at 317 S. West Street (the “white house”). The Trustees have set a price of $275,000 for the house. If you know of anyone who may be interested in purchasing the property, please contact the church office or Curtis Brooking.
The Senior Adult Day Care Planning Team on which Hans and Dan serve, has hired Sara Amos to be the Director of the Adult Day Program that CBC will host. Sara will begin on a part-time basis June 15 and then move to full time on July 1. Her salary is paid from a grant we received, and she will be on the payroll of Culpeper Baptist Church until a legal entity is formed for the Adult Day Program.
Sara is currently the Program Director of the Caregiver Ministry at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Warrenton, VA. She earned her Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech in Recreation Therapy and status as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Sara has worked as a program director for a grant program of Adult Day Services at Virginia Tech and has served as an intern to senior adults at Blacksburg Baptist Church. We are eager to introduce Sara to Culpeper and to our church!
After a postponement of two weeks, the weather cleared, and we gathered for the called business meeting on February 21 at 11:15 a.m. Susanne Dorsey, Leadership Council Chair, presented the two motions for consideration. Both were approved unanimously.
The church granted approval to renovate the first floor of the 1954 building for use as an adult day program, with the church contributing $250,000 toward the renovation.
In addition, the church granted the Trustees permission to sell the church–owned property located at 317 S. West Street [aka the white house across the street from the church].
We look forward to sharing regular updates in the coming months.
