Over the last few months we have made an effort to engage more people in our worship ministry. We knew we needed to expand beyond offering worship at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. We started “The Branch” in room 317 to provide a casual environment for people to engage with the sermon and each other in conversation. We also wanted to return to our church’s unique relationship and commitment to the mission and ministry of The Culpeper. So we started a service in the J.T. Edwards Chapel (first at 8:30 a.m.; then we moved to 10:30 a.m.) Shortly thereafter we added the Memory Care Unit in January at 9:30 a.m. In all, we have nearly 60 people every week in these new worship expressions!
One of the reasons we called the new service “The Branch” is because we believe we need many branches as we seek to engage people who are not currently involved. We would love to see 3-4 more branches start this year with 20-25 people coming together. We can meet in homes, community places or the church, and we want to meet on different days and times because we know not everyone can go to a church building on Sunday morning. We also want to provide more worship and Bible study opportunities for older adults who can’t come to church.
Volunteers Needed: Both Audio and Video With the expansion of our worship ministry to new venues and times – we need more folks on the audio/video team. We need folks who: create sermon videos with Dan, run computers/soundboard during services and manage our video streams on Facebook and YouTube. If you can help, contact Tim Setzer or Dan.
