Fulbright Scholar Alex Romero
Born and raised in Culpeper County, Alex graduated from Eastern View High School in 2022 and subsequently earned a Bachelor's of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2026. At Georgetown, Alex studied International Politics with a concentration in International Law, Ethics, and Institutions and minored in history and European Studies. Through his academic experience and a semester abroad in Southern Africa, Alex cultivated a strong interest in and passion for sustainable governance and strong institutions. In furtherance of this academic and professional commitment, Alex's research in Lesotho will focus on populism and democratization in contemporary Lesotho politics and its regional and global applicability.
