Culpeper Baptist Church and Battlefield FCA Announce Innovative Partnership for Youth Ministry
In an exciting new collaboration designed to expand outreach and engagement with youth, Culpeper Baptist Church and the Battlefield Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) are pleased to announce a joint initiative to appoint a dual-role leader serving as an FCA Area Representative and Youth Pastor at Culpeper Baptist Church.
Pastor Dan Carlton of Culpeper Baptist Church shared his enthusiasm about the partnership: “At Culpeper Baptist, we believe in breaking down the 'silos' that often limit our effectiveness in ministry. Our community-based youth ministry, ‘Converge,’ along with our collaboration with Maranatha Iglesia Bautista, is a testament to our commitment to outreach and engagement. This innovative partnership with FCA is a significant step in expanding our ministry to students in Culpeper, and it exemplifies our long-standing focus on building collaborative relationships to share God's love more effectively.”
The new role will focus on leading 'Converge,' Culpeper Baptist Church’s vibrant youth group that currently averages 25 teens per week, and on expanding opportunities to engage with teenagers. This effort is further supported by the recent conversion of a large space into a youth/young adult room, fostering a dynamic and welcoming environment for young people.
Additionally, the partnership will leverage the strengths of both organizations to foster spiritual growth and leadership development among young athletes and students. The individual in this dual role will be instrumental in building bridges between the church and the athletic community, providing guidance, mentorship, and spiritual leadership.
Scot Small, Metro Director of Battlefield FCA, expressed excitement about the collaboration: “Partnering with Culpeper Baptist Church, a congregation with a rich history and influential presence, marks a significant milestone for Battlefield FCA. This partnership embodies our vision of expanding God’s Kingdom by integrating faith into sports and youth ministry. It’s an honor to join forces with such a pivotal church, and we are eager to see how this collaboration will transform lives and strengthen our community.”
